Four lines are plenty.
✓What the product does, and who pays for it.
✓Where it is today: an idea, a spec, a half-built repo, or something live that needs fixing.
✓Whether you need web, mobile, or both — and whether it has to handle money.
✓Your timeline and budget range, even approximate. It saves us both a round trip.
